That 2T22 looks in nice condition. I wonder if they use it for back-up.

I'm going to doubt it. I think it is probably just due to be taken down for replacement. If you look on ASC's site, they have Richardson in one of their news articles for an installation job. Richardson is also home to the 2T22 that fell over and got it's horns crushed on the Civil Defense Museum site.

I'm sure the city taking full advantage of the T-128 and the 2T22 is disconnected. Probably more of an expense to take down the older siren at the time, and it will be taken down later. Plus, being that the T-128 is louder than the 2T22, and has battery backup capabilities, it would be redundant to use both sirens.

Nice photo though.

Never thought I'd see Richardson replace their 2T22.

Richardson put those ASCs up in 2001 or was it 2002? I don't remember. The old sirens are still up. There's still one Allertor, the 2-2t22s and several Thunderbolts still up. Last time I was in Richardson during a siren test (about a year ago) I swear I heard a Thunderbolt along with the T128s so I'm not sure all the old sirens are disconnected but that was a year ago.

Hmm. I wondered about that. There is a T-128 right off of 75 and International (I think)...and like 2 blocks away a T-bolt...I don't think it's Dallas's and it has been facing a different direction every month so you may be right. Where are the 2t22s?

Wow! That pole looks insufficient for the 2t22.
