Siren Hunt (N. Shawnee County & Jackson Co.) - New Pics

Sat Jun 09, 2007 12:29 am

I was in the North part of the county today, so i figured i might as well snap some pictures of the sirens up that way. I got all but 1 (A thunderbolt)
BTW: All of the sirens in Shawnee County are Owned and Operated by Shawnee County (This includes those in Topeka)
so here they are:
This isn't in the North part of the County but it is located in Topeka, KS at State Street Elementary School.

That's it for now, but gas prices are going down and i can drive now so there might be a few more small siren hunts.

Well, we went up to Holton, KS which meant more siren picture taking! I only knew of 1 siren in Holton, a Sterling M on the FD..its still there but i also found a SD-10, Model 5, and 2t22, in ok shape. The SD-10 didnt look so good, either did the Model 5 but the Sterling M and 2t22 was in pretty good shape.
New Pictures Below:
This is the Thunderbolt from Soilder Township in N Shawnee County that i didn't get yesterday:

There are from Holton, KS
FD/Police Station:
http://dylan.helixweb.net/Files/104_0854.jpg (Sorry i didn't get a better view, it was a Police station and there was some people outside so i didn't want to snap to many pictures, especially since i had a different county tag, they might have thought i was up to something.)
Junk Yard near 8th and Ohio St:

6th & Dakota:

About 4 blocks away near a nursing home:

This one is from Mayetta, KS Behind the Downtown Buildings at a Park:

This is in Hoyt, KS behind the Downtown Buildings:

This is the map of the sirens i found in Holton, KS...Black is Sterling M, Yellow is SD-10, Orange is Model 5 and Green is 2t22...they all have a half mile coverage radius...is that right for the Sterling M?
EDIT:
Here is the Siren Map for Holton
