Talia told me that they're waiting until June or July to pick it up out of the woods, as there is risk of damage to the siren if they pick it up right now due to its immense weight and environmental factors. It will be a long restoration once it's picked up.

Yes the post is very accurate. I have passed the classroom portion of my fire fighting classes and testing is occurring shortly. After testing I will be getting people together to try and move the siren. Classes were not easy which is why I have been silent and also I can't exactly do much with a 600-800 pound siren by myself.
RIP. Thanks for keeping us posted at least! Good luck on your test.

I'm trying to get people together to get it moved by the end of this month. Unfortunately nobody is wanting to help and I can't move it alone. That's the biggest delay currently, getting the 8 or so people needed to move it.
I'm going to be contacting a vintage fire group this weekend to try and get help.
Excavation has begun. I have people coming to help me move it finally. I have about 5 right now and I'll see if i can get more people to help. I'm going to take off all the access doors to give us purchase points to rope and lift by.
The rain shield unfortunately got more dented as i tried to crib it to get under it to dig as i was running out of room on the bottom but I'm going to take it off and hammer it back into shape anyway. I know i can do it because that thing is really soft metal, it almost feels annealed.
