Baggage Claims (wow, didn't see that coming!)

Fri Mar 28, 2008 8:09 pm

I travel often, so I'm almost always standing next to baggage claim when that alarm goes off (and consequently pull out a pair of pants from my luggage after a quick trip to the bathroom afterwards). Out of pure curiosity, does anyone know who in the world makes these buzzers? They don't sound exactly like a Vibratone horn - or maybe my ears are just discombobulated after the plane ride.

So, does anyone know the manufacturer - and hopefully a sound clip?

Edwards signal/federal makes the one from what I've seen. They are the ivory colored ones with the amber strobe right?

We just updated ours at DFW. They used to be vibratone horns but have now been switched out with whatever little horns they use in the FS Litestacks. (we have those now)

Ouch. That must have been embarrassing.

More of... a joke ^_^

I expected that they were Vibratones. They all sound pretty much the same, but the lights vary. I've seen flashing lights most of the time in either red, yellow, or blue. Thanks for the verification.

The baggage claims at Bradley International in CT always made me jump. We have rotating or flashing (can't remember which) orange lights.
