Franklin/Delaware County, Ohio Tornado Warning

Sun May 11, 2008 7:25 pm

Here's a video I made after lunch today.

I have several means of receiving weather warnings, but once again, I found out about today's tornado warning from the sirens. This should make the county commissioners more aware of the real need we have in Delaware County for sirens.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faHi4m_O4Nw Here is a video I took of the Grove City High School 3016. I went to take a video of the Briggs & Demorest thunderbolt but there was a 4004 right next to it.

I'm suprised nobody went running. I could hear locomotives on a freight train pulling their guts out in that video

Is the lowest pitched siren a 4004? It's sounding at 450 HZ. I haven't heard very many 4004's that sounded at that pitch.

I was in Dublin today. Their siren system worked perfectly.

It was my first indication of a warning. In fact, the Dublin sirens went off before the local news media reported it on their web sites.

However, I guess Franklin County sounded their sirens 8 minutes after the warning was issued.

All in all, I was very impressed.

So does Franklin County sound their sirens only once during a tornado warning, or intermittenly? One way to recive weather notifications fast is from TWC. They usually pop up on my Weather Channel 1-2 minutes before my WR goes off.
