Amazing.

I couldn't help but laugh when the director "nodded" to the reporter that a Federal Signal 2001-SRN would not turn on.

Than to think there's a ThunderBeam hidden amongst some weeds. I love how they videoed it's ThunderBeam sticker.

I have to admit I love my towns sirens, and it's one reason why I've still yet to get a NOAA Weather Radio. I, like that one resident in that video, prefer the outdoor sirens.

Nice news report. It makes you grateful to live in an area that does care about their early warning system. I guess it will take something like an F5 to come roaring through town to make them wake up and smell the coffee.

Good thing to know I wasn't the only one who chuckled a little bit out of this news report due to the neglect of the sirens. So, who wants to call dibs on that Thunderbeam in the ditch?

Found it really lame that one of the Government agencies want's to "move away" from outdoor warning to other means of notification. That's just pathetic.

Moving away from outdoor warning systems is playing Russian roulette with people's lives! There is no excuse to not having an outdoor warning system.

I'm glad my county, during this last month's several siren failures, never gave up or once argued about getting the sirens fixed. Now, only one siren (a 2001 DC) is not working, due to a dead battery.

Actually Jackson has experienced an F5 back in 1966 it was called the candlestick park tornado......

To me it sounds as if not one person in the county office knows what they are doing. They need to get rid of the EM director. put someone else in there with experience and common sense.
