Found another clip with a Japanese fire alarm in it, it shows the alarm at 10 seconds in, I don't know the manuafacturer, maybe someone here does? Here's the link.

The whoop sound is a lot like an old naval steam siren.

My gf is from japan and she said those are loud as crap. She basically said all the ones that she herd sound the same.

Really sorry to resurrect this old topic:

I've been stationed here in Japan almost a year. I've lived in two barracks and an apartment building. They all have the same fire alarm system that makes the same "hi-lo" sound, japanese/english announcements, and whoop-sound. It's not a pleasant thing to be woken up by.
