2t22A has modern FS logo. Date indicator?

Sun Jun 07, 2009 3:36 am

Federal Signal said their serial number on the 2t22 is of no value in determining the date of manufacture.

Can their modern Fs on the siren be a clue?

Apparently there was a CD (/\) in a 3? inch circle above the exisiting logo.

Thank you.

What is the last two digits of the serial number on your 2t22?

I'll have to go out and read it from the siren.
My wife discarded the paper on which I had the name plate numbers written.
Just noticed that one can barely see the Fs logo in her photo.

Oh yes, I see the logo. Your 2t22 was most likely made in the early 80's or so. I'll know an exact date form that serial number though.

My 2T's last two digits are "83", meaning it was manufactured in 1983. However, the pre-FSC sirens didn't have the date code in the serial number, I don't know why though..kinda odd.

No not exactly. I have a model 2 from the 40's that has a date code and it's a federal electric siren. I've also seen federal signal sirens that do not have the date codes listed in the serial number.

When did they start using the modern Fs logo?

If Federal Signals say the serial number is useless, is this the only clue I can find?

By the look and wear of your logo, like I said, it's most likely an early 80's siren.
