Oh, okay, I see what you're getting at! I just didn't see it very clearly in the drawing.
The inner one is just like the stator of any other siren, while the outer one rotates to cover the ports of the inner one. This effectively closes off the entire stator with a very small rotation...
I've had an idea like that a couple of years ago! Wasn't there a picture of a Model 2 with that sort of rotational mechanism?

I don't see how it can be, since all the visible sections of the stator have the same number of ports. I believe that there is only one, long, 12-port stator on this siren.

Maybe he's implying that a third, coded signal is an option. Allot of people seem to use "tone" and 'signal" interchangeably.

Best of luck! 2009 has been the year (it seems like) for people recording rare sirens.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!
