Blunderbolt Assembly pictures

Thu Sep 10, 2009 4:36 am

Well, here you go. The head of my 1000T is assembled. I still need to get decals for it and finish painting my blower box and find a flange for the standpipe. I'm also having to rewire the RCM, which was butchered by the Nuke plant it came from. We leafblowered it today and it's pretty freaking loud. But even on 115 volts it would start starving for air pretty quickly.

Can't you just feel the hate in that black hole?

Nice pictures
I wonder if the curved rotator was a reality or if it was just a rendering on a mag.

Nice, my uncle use to have one. We now return to your regular programing.

I can not get over how badass this thing looks. Great job!

How can you tell if it's starving for air?

The output would rapidly drop off and it would sound like it was running on chopper only.

Leafblowers make crappy t-bolt blowers, it's true.

Mine sounded pretty raspy, but not starved, check out the vid and decide for yourself.
I wonder if 2 bank teller blowers would stop that sharp sound.
Personally, it's loud enough for me! 'Course, I suppose it's a bit more evident with a 1000T, as you have 3 pitches, high, low, and resultant.

Here is my vid, you can hear the sound get much sharper when it hits the limit of the leaf blower. The camera didn't pick it up very well but when it hit that certain point the output fell to almost nothing, and then picked back up as the siren wound down.
