I was hoping they would wait until I move back out there.
It seems like they're going with American Signal though like Chickasha, Shawnee, and Bartlesville. So I'm not too dissapointed.

At least they are not just going to leave nothing to protect the county. It is also good to see that they are going to go with reliable sirens and give the whole county coverage. I hope the first one that is replaced is the hornless T-Bolt. It is probably not loud and is not doing its job very well.

Glad they went with T-128s! Good sounding and good looking sirens!

Seems like everyone is replacing their sirens these days. Shawnee County will soon be getting 2001-130s, Eclipses and Modulators. Jefferson County, KS is also replacing some of their Banshees with 2001-130s.

Currently, they have Thunderbolts, (all but one dual tone, not 1003's) SD-10s, a few Thunderbeams and 2T22's. Those are in the more populated areas of town, spaced closer together, with the exception of the 2T22's. those are with the few sirens east of town by lake Thunderbird. The newer parts of town have ASC T-128's.

I stayed in OKC last Monday night, and saw the Federal Signal demo truck parked at a hotel. It had a 2001-130 on it. Unfortunately, I didn't get pics.

I was in Norman all day today for the Norman Santa Fe Depot Centennial Celebration. I have an idea that a revenue raising measure might just pass to upgrade the siren system in Norman.

At noon, the system was tested and the single tone Thunderbolt on top of the Cleveland County courthouse brought the proceedings to a halt for a couple of minutes. The folks in Norman know better than to to schedule any type of performances Fridays at noon!

Am I the only one who noticed, but is that a pic of an ATI in the top part of that news story (http://www.news9.com/Global/story.asp?S=11409180)? Sure looks like one. Geez, I hope Norman doesn't even solicit a bid from them!
