The Best Way to Film a Siren System Ambience from School?

Wed Feb 03, 2010 4:09 am

O.K. guys time to get the old thinker out. I am looking forward to the siren test at school tomorrow. The only problem is that I have a camera and a MP3 player, and I want to film from the school. Thankfully the test is at 12:07. I get out of lunch at 12:06. I have one minute to get from one side of he school to the other, get outside (area between portable classroom and school) and start filming. Then after quickly get to 5th hour. Anyone have any suggestions on other ways to film? I mean, there has to be someone who has done this before, and I don't want such hassle!
P.S. Extreme plans are welcome to ;-)

What I would do is just shoot the video even if it means being late to class. Because in my opinion having a good quality video is worth sitting through a 30 minute detention, but that is just my opinion but then again I'm late to class all the time.

Good Luck!!!

Skipping class for a mere video is a bad idea, period.

Agreed. And it might not just be detention, suspension comes to mind too.

Get to class, kiddo. Your education is more important than a bunch of air raid sirens sounding for a test. Trust me, you don't want to mix up your priorities here, education = the rest of your life.

How about asking permission to be a few minutes late to class? It never hurts to try.

Is it a cold war era siren ? If so, tell your 5th hour teacher you are doing an extra credit on the cold war for history class. I'm sure he/she would ablige unless 5th hour is history.

If you do go late to class, you need to ask first. Chances would be good you'd get permission.

Is the siren on the school grounds or something? You're leaving a lot out of this.

I've walked in 5 minutes late from recording sirens many times. I have never had any trouble with it.

It's just a minute late to class, and usually the first time that you are late they usually let you off with some kind of warning or like a five minute detention. I really didn't mean skiping class, :oops:I just meant coming in a couple of seconds later , just a one time deal. but you guys have a point.
