Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:16 am

Yep, La Junta has Sentry Sirens. I must warn that there is some language in the video. The Sirens are in attack mode.

Hmm, that's intersting. I've been to La Junta several times, and never noticed any sirens there.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

La Junta is under a TOR warning as I'm typing this message, so expect a new round of videos if I can find them.

I know this is an old topic, but my dad is in Colorado right now, and was in La Junta and found this Sentry at Otero Jr. College! I'm not sure which model this is(and how much horsepower), but it must be dual-toned since that's what it sounds like in that video.

Looks like a Sentry, and by the horns on it's its maybe a 16V1T-B.

Charlie, perhaps you can confirm this model number?

It's not a 16V1t-B. The rows of horns are to close together. It's got to either be a 15V2T in 3 phase or a 20V2T. I am searching the city on google maps street view to see what I can find.

*Edit*Here is a map of what I have found so far. I'll continue to search the town and add as and if I find more.

But how can a dual-tone siren have the same number of horns on both rows?

Because there are a different amount of ports in each individual horn. On dual tone Sentry's, aside from the 40V2T, there is 1 port in the bottom row of horns and 2 ports in the top row. There are 8 Horns on most Sentry's so the bottom row would have 8 ports and the top would have 16 ports, making it an 8/16 port siren. Sentry is different in that way, being they put more than one port in a horn. The 40V2T is different in the way that it has 5 horns on the top and bottom. Each bottom horn has 2 ports and each top horn has 3 ports, making any 40V2T a 10/15 port siren. Do you get it now?
