That Erick siren is in really good shape. I was actually in Warroad this past week and they must not start sounding it until June because they didn't sound any blasts while I was there. There was a pretty intense thunderstorm while I was there and it knocked the siren off its base, but by the end of the day they'd remounted it! That's what I call speedy service! I still can't believe the siren is almost 100 years old though!

My home town had an Erick that had not been tested since the 1960's. One day in 2004, the circuit shorted out and the siren sounded continuously until someone found the right breaker. That's a well-made siren! Too bad the city removed it after that.

This should be an easy one but it bugs me every time I pass it. I've searched for some identification on the box and siren and came up short so I figure I'll let some experts take a crack at it. The siren is in Hills, Iowa.

That siren is a 15 HP Penetrator siren. Otherwise known as a P-15, it's dual tone too.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

Think it's a Sterling 2v8.
Kicking it in the siren party since '08

Located in Plevna, KS...there is a new Eclipse-8 across the street so I doubt this siren still works.

I might be wrong, but to me, that looks like a WS Darley siren. Possibly a Darley Model 2?

Jerry.

Haven't posted in quite some time. These sirens were worth posting. Rushville Indiana has 6 of these things. A town to the south of Rushville, but still in Rush County installed one very recently. I've never seen them before. They do not appear to be anything the major siren companies produce. They don't look like the best sirens in the world. There controls are mounted at the top of the pole, along with a solar panel.

Here is the photo set for it on Flickr,

Brad Meiser and I have discussed these sirens and can't figure out what they are. Our consensus is that they must be home grown. Manufactured locally. Although as I told Brad they look like something a high school shop class and electronics club came up with.

Tell me what you guys think...
Matt,
"The Federal Thunderbolt siren is a rotating-beam siren that disperses high-intensity warning signals over a large area." :TBolt:
