2t22 Attack Bethany ok

Sat Sep 18, 2010 7:30 pm

Went and recorded a 2t22 today in Bethany Oklahoma. This siren is completely hidden by tree's. I didnt have a tripod or anything to put the camera on so I had to hold it and I had been bitten by a bunch of mosquitos. The video has bad quality but relatively good sound quality.

You are too close.
Audio sounds terrible.

Good tip: to avoid audio distortion, put tape over the mic.
I love firefighting and sirens. Somehow they go together.

That's only going to make it sound muffled.
Being at a safe distance is better. You don't always have to see the siren to make a great video

100-150 feet is always a good distance to record from if your camera can handle it (camcorder/"large" video-recording camera). If you are recording with a small (point and shoot) camera, 200 feet would be the closest I'd go.

You can go as close as your camera can handle.

This is one of those cases where a ambience or audio recording from a distance would have been better. This video is not good at all.
