I'm a man, I can change, if I have to, I guess.

Also, my previous comment was just a joke. Don't worry, I'm not some sick sadist. :P

Is this the British version of underwriters laboratories?

In that case, its just undergoing the "rapid deceleration" test.

Honestly I am more concerned for the safety of people on the ground, or in the building.

An uncontrolled removal like that just spells hazard.

Hi, glad you liked my photo! I was wondering why it was suddenly getting hundreds of hits and it led me here so i thought I'd tell you about it. This was an old fire station just along the road from where I live. It had stood derelict for many years then it was demolished in 1993 to make way for an extension to the school next door. It was a familiar landmark to me, standing on the highest point of Hastings West Hill and I was sorry to see this lovely old Victorian building go. This area was badly bombed in WWII and I imagine the fire station with its siren played an important part in saving the lives of locals. I don't know how I managed to be there with my camera just as the siren was levered off the chimney, but I'm glad I was able to capture this poignant moment in its destruction. The building below was alread in ruins and there was certainly no danger of anyone being underneath when it went.

Thanks for the clarification! Atleast it was "Removed" for a good reason!
