Washington State Mystery Sirens

Sun Jun 19, 2011 3:31 am

I am new to the siren world and have since started to hunt for sirens in Washington State. I came across two mystery sirens I have never seen before.

Any help on identifying this sirens would be great! I hope to have a video of the first siren working soon.

Thanks

Pictures would have been nicer, although the added exposure in youtube isn't bad. Anyway, the first one is a Darley Champion as stated by the youtube commenter. That other one, again like the youtube user said, looks like a Model 5 or 7 with a custom made cover.

I went looking atop the fire department in Rexburg earlier today and found this thing. Anyone know what it is?

Also, when I asked about getting a pic of the control boxes, one of the fire fighters lead me to this. Its hidden behind a stack of radios.

He told me that the siren used to sound a noon whistle but had since been disconnected. He didn't know when though.

That's an ACA Screamer. Looks to be 5 or 7.5 horse model.

D'oh, I feel really stupid now. At least I can say I have finally seen an ASC siren now.
