I sure wish that other 2001s are painted that way. These things look "bigger," for some reason, when yellow.

Yes, all of romeovilles sirens are yellow like this. I believe they have 14 now. That number changes every year as this is a booming area. They also have a yellow original roundback 2001 and a cd yellow ACA rm-130. They have replaced their tbolts. Originally around 1979 they installed 2 tbolts. Then in 1989 the rm-130. Then the 2001's have been going up since 1990. Gives you an idea of how small this town once was and how big it is getting now.

Yeah, that growth in that area is jaw-dropping.

I read somewhere that Will County, IL is the fastest growing county
in the U.S.

That's what they say about Clark County, Nev. Oh well.

Strange to see the traditional yellow again on sirens. The ones around here
were switched to dark green around 1968.

Speaking of the yellow, sorry if this has been asked...

Why are most yellow, do they just stand out more for some reason?

I read on the Federal Signal site that 2001's can be ordered in any color. It'd be cool to see a red, teal, or black 2001!!  8) 8)
If your siren is a-failin'
Chances are that it's a Whelen
And if it's just about to die
Then it must be an ATI

Most sirens still standing are yellow because they were owned by the CD agency, which painted the sirens that it buys, yellow.

Some of Oregon's tsunami sirens are being painted bright blue.

The painting of those 2001s yellow is very likely principally based on the wish of the county. Now all we need is a yellow T-128!
