Thank you. Going to try and add some sort of radio and rotator monday when I get back. I might do a battery backup system also, but I need to figure out how.

How should I do the remote setup? It needs to have 8 buttons, 1 for each tone and a cancel. I would do infrared, but that doesn't work the greatest. I just need something cheap to work with.

Nice!, I've been toying with the idea for a long time of an Arduino siren, just have not had the time to learn the arduino so I could make one.

The way I would make a remote activation (if I knew how) would be via the Ethernet Shield, each siren could have an Ethernet shield and an IP address then the software could either activate them all or one at a time (dependant on the skill of the programmer, which I am not cut out do all that well)

Wave shield, I need to look into that, then voice might be an option.

We'll the Ethernet shield is expensive, and you have to plug it in to a network. The wav shield would probably work for voice, but you would have to have recordings already made. I wish I had both shields. Actually, another Arduino with extended XBee radios or Ethernet and a gui touch screen would be awesome! :D

Ethernet shield would be cool, but it would also be neat if you could dial your phone into the Arduino and press a button to activate it!

Here's an update: http://youtu.be/AgrSoLuY0L4

Does anyone know how to build an FM radio transmitter and receiver? I'm going to RadioShack tomorrow and I need to know what parts to use. So basically make wireless audio cheap.

So what do you think? I still don't know how I'm going todo the collecter rings, so if you have an idea, please tell me. The problem with them, is I can't get a wire from the ground to the top. It's just the wheels. I will cover them in tin foil, but I need to find a way to get a wire to them, which means removing the bottom supports on the rotator...
