Refinery Fire featuring ACA/ASC Cyclone in attack!!

Mon Dec 10, 2012 1:28 am

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_snU3qk9enY

This was recently uploaded from Richmond, California. Others capturing the incident have been put on YouTube, but with the Cyclone dominant by far.

I'm not sure about the second siren; but the harmonics here are *really* nice. I do believe there's a third siren sounding alert in the far distance.

EDIT: The second siren may be something from the Tempest or Penetrator line...but IMO 100% certain ACA/ASC.

That sound is so alarming to me, because whenever there was tornado here, our screamers would go off, which sounded like this. That cloud is pretty ominous too. Here is a more clear clip of the sirens: http://youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=EqW-e9BE2QA

Thanks for posting that too. Indeed this kind of siren has an ominous sound...as in "Get the hell away from the impending disaster NOW" type of ominous sound.

I just happened to get a clip of the Cyclone plus a different type...Matter of fact, the other one I ceited sounded like these:

I'm pretty sure those high tone sirens are ASC OM-120s. That entire area has a system in place, designed by Hormann America, for warning of refinery accidents, which consists of a bunch of OM-120s and Cyclones.

Also IT is NOT attack signal The Attack signal is the same timing up and down like 6 up and 6 down. This is Fire signal which is Longer up than down.
in this case 3-1 timing

@Archon: Thanks for the clarification.I vaguely recall reading on an ancient ASC webpage that Cyclones have the differing signals you mentioned there.

Yes, Richmond does have Cyclones and OM-120s. Which reminds me, we don't have a good recording of a OM-120 yet. Someone should get out there to record it. They have a neat sound.

I know looking through the forum, there used to be videos of at least one of the OM-120s in Waukesha, WI, however that video was taken (either channel closed or video removed.) If someone from the Milwaukee do one of those as well that would be nice. Hearing that OM-120 in the video at Chevron, they really do have a nice sound.
Sirens, they're loud!
