Soundmaster in MN

Fri Apr 26, 2013 12:04 am

I moved to Minneapolis a couple of months ago due to a new job. Last night when I was out hanging with a friend, I discovered this old Soundmaster at the corner of University Ave & 40th in Columbia Heights...

We've known of this for a long time. It's still pretty cool, though.

I apologize for bumping an old thread (finally getting around to reading them!):

Columbia Heights has (2) Soundmaster 115's, which many people know about. A while back, I created a thread about Gibbon, MN's Soundmaster 125. As far as I know, it's still in service, mounted on their water tower. I'll have to send them an email (if they have one) or a letter to inquire.

Not sure if you all were familiar with that one. VERY few of those in the wild--the only other one I'm familiar with is one mounted (I think) at a state park in Iowa.

There are a few Soundmaster 125's on this site including the one you mentioned: http://www.atomictheater.com/iowasoundmaster.htm.

Always good to see something informative added to these threads...Has anyone gotten a video of the ones that rotate yet? Not to venture off topic, just figured while it was open I'd ask.

I've searched all over YouTube, and there aren't any rotating SoundMaster videos. The only SoundMaster videos are of the non-rotational models, and there is a crap load of synths.
