Amarillo Updated OEM Page - With Sounds

Tue Jul 23, 2013 1:12 pm

Was looking through the OEM page and found they updated it. And then clicked on this:

http://oem.amarillo.gov/?page_id=1110

Found it a little amusing. Can you name the sounds? Also says Cyclone P-50 on one with a photo of a Cyclone. Wonder where they got the sounds from? Could have just posted the videos or links if they wanted. Not too sure of that 2T22 sound either.

I was thinking the same thing! LOL  Most cities call their sirens just sirens, but Amarillo knows all their sirens names. What a neat city.

I would love to live in Amarillo. I wish my county was this dedicated to their sirens as they are.

The 2T22 sound is the same as the P-10 & 15 sounds.
Also, technically speaking, it doesn't hurt to call it a Cyclone P-50, they're basically the same thing except one rotational and the other is not.

Wow their Allertronic sounds pretty bad, switching from single to dual tone like that.

I can't tell if the siren is having issues or if they are playing to sound files together. It sounds like they played sound files and rerecorded them.

No it has done this before. I guess the tone boards just get whacked out from age.
