WOW! You guys sure know what you're doing when it comes to sirens.

I hauled the Thunderbolt up to Upson county this weekend for an emergency vehicles show/first responders day at The Rock Ranch. They were ecstatic about the siren and very pleased with the restoration. Credit for the pictures goes to Justin Adams.

Actually it's just the opposite, the motor is only rated for ~1745rpm. The smaller 4M blowers are the ones that really scream, since they're pullied up to spin at somewhere around 2750rpm from a 1745rpm motor.

Not quite that loud, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it pushing around 130-131dB at a hundred feet out.

It's going to be on a 55 foot pole also, so it should have a pretty good range. The fact that Upson county runs attack for tornado warnings and tests makes it even better. A 1000 is a bass monster when it hits the lower frequencies.

If it's hilly country it'll do well too because of that! After all that's what the Thunderbolt is all about; that attack cycle and the low frequencies being pushed out the way they are. It's not that it's that loud at long ranges but it has that reach because that 1000 up and down cycle really is an attention getter.

Oh yeah it's very hilly country. Upson county is up and down, really a challenge for any siren system.
