Questions on rebuilding a Fedelcode 5

Tue Dec 17, 2013 10:04 pm

I'm rebuilding a Fedelcode model 5 and have everything but the RC5 starter. Do I really need is or can it be used with a fused, service disconnect as a switch. This is just for testing.

Also are there any of these RC5's around?

Thanks in advance.

The RC5 really isn't anything more than an motor starter and an enclosure. I personally would use a motor starter over a disconnect as a switch, motor starters are not that hard to find nor are they that expensive.

Just get a size 2 contactor with whatever voltage coil you need. You pick them up on Ebay fairly cheap. Is the siren single or three phase?

for my Model 3 I just used a generic contactor in an old enclosure that came with it and works just fine.
