It's not quite as short and stubby as a Model 3, but man, you got a FAST turnaround time on that one. They'd literally just taken it out of commission...lol.

On a side note, the Model 3 itself is one of my favorite sirens. You'll enjoy this one.

The c 3 1/2 is a model 5. Ian has one.

Looks to have been rewound at some point, hence the Bradford name plate on it. The motor is actually a GE.

Nice find TurbopropPilot. Is it a 5A or 5B?

I just noticed, but it looks older because the bottom of the stator is wide open, so the rotor can be seen. I wonder why they did that and when they switched over to the more common stator.

Some very old Model 3's had no housing except a flat cover over the top of the rotor so all the air was drawn from underneath.

The bottom of the stator on my 5T is open as well. I wonder if a closed one was just something added on later?

They added it later when they changed endbell designs on the motor. Later motors had a close bottom stator with a C-face mount, or a closed bottom stator that was also the front endbell of the motor and held the upper bearing. Ian's 5B has the one piece endbell/stator, like an ACA.

If it were me I'd paint it in either a light gray or CD yellow. No need for it to be loud in more than one way.

As for artwork...perhaps the FS logo with some sort of mark denoting you as the owner, like a propeller?
Don't wait. Take a siren photo today.
