$300,000 sounds like they want a set of electronic sirens.

Just FYI, their current system consist of 7 ASC RM-130s, 2 T-121s and 1 T-128.

I hate to say it but the woman they interviewed is the problem. If she relies exclusively on the siren, she's putting herself in danger more than the siren not sounding is.

That aside, I hope there is a chance for someone to obtain the old sirens, especially the RM's. They replaced Thunderbolts about 20 years ago. (Also I hope they go with anything but Whelen or 2001...)

It will go out to bid, they won't just choose a vendor. Has to be competitive. And I don't know about the Iforce....ASC consistently pushes the E class for some reason.

I'm not saying they don't, but with over 400 Whelens in both OKC and Tulsa metro it gets a little old. I was mainly stating for my sanity's sake, which I know they don't care about.

That aside, if Goddard puts out a bid, he will probably push the 508. He has done a lot of installations of those lately throughout this entire region. Bethany rejected his bid since the 508 didn't meet the specific "130dB requirement" (even though everyone knows the 2001-130 isn't exactly 130dB, and the 508 isn't exactly 127.)

Interesting stuff. Looks like the drivers are Atlas Sound K-100N, which is a phenolic-diaphragm driver with a neodymium-loaded magnet structure. The first table is assembling quadrants together for each upper acoustic module (cast aluminum horn throat sections), then the quadrants are stacked up and bolted together, and last the outside flare panels are added.
