Why do you guys hate 2001's so much?!?

Hi guys, I'm not that new to sirens, but I have one question I've been wondering about...

I understand why people don't like whelens and ati's (I actually really like whelens I just mean because they are all electrical), but why do people hate 2001s? I think they're cool because it's a real electromechanical siren with a stator,rotor and motor.

I think there was a post about this already, but personally don't hate them. They are inanimate objects, machines designed for one purpose, to warn people.
Not to please anyone like us, just to do what they are designed to do. It just has to do with the fact that some people can't accept change when it comes to sirens. The fact is that the 2001 is a good siren and does what it is designed to do. Though it is higher pitched, it is louder than a Thunderbolt, more efficient, can run on batteries, lighter, smaller and there's the Equinox for anyone looking for the same siren, but lower pitch. I use the Thunderbolt for comparison because people seem to always say that it's somehow superior, when it really isn't. On the electronic sirens thing, i have no problem with Whelen's either. They have huge coverage for their size, they are definitely the way to go for electronic sirens. ATI is absolute junk though, i will give you that. "Great GPU's, Terrible Sirens"-ATI

I dont really hate them. They're kind of pedestrian though. Kind of the Chevy Malibu of sirens. They're functional and they're everywhere. But they stopped being exciting when the 2001-130 came out in my not so humble opinion.

Personaly, I don't like the 2001 series siren because of the 750hz pitch. Just seriously? I thought Federal Signal knew that the lower the pitch, the further it carries. It's hard to believe the 2001 series siren can even be heard up to 1 Mile. I'm sorry if this does not apply to you all, but that's just my opinion.

Have you ever heard a 2001 ambience? The closest 2001 to my house is about a half a mile away, but I can hear 3 or 4 others from up to 3 miles away. And they pack a punch.

Obviously 2001's are good sirens, why else would you see them all over the place? I have had them around me all my life, and I love em'.

I lived in a town with 6 2001's ( SRN's , SRNB'S) , they do the job pretty well .

I love all mechanical sirens and most electronic ones. 2001s included. Being under any siren doesn't put you in place of the beam but even below the beam of sound is still pretty punchy. It distorted my hearing pretty good when it was pointed my way... And like I say I was below the cone. So yes they are fantastic sirens really.

I don't hate 2001s. I actually like their appearance, and that they are effective at warning the public, but I don't like how the high-pitched sound doesn't travel as far as a lower-pitched siren of the same or just a few decibels lower, and the 2001-130 tends to have pitch variation issues, which make it seem unreliable.

If a lot of you can remember the big discussion five years ago about the 2001-130 before Hamilton County purchased their T-128s, they actually seem to still only put out 127 decibels like the previous 2001s, and not the advertised 130.

I don't hate them, I just don't think that they are particularly interesting.
