Do I have to repeat myself again?
Well, Sedgwick County sounds their sirens every Monday at noon, except for cloudy days.
Ich spreche nicht Deutsch...doh!

From what I understand from the chiefs around here, Jackson County, Athens Clarke County, and Barrow County all test theirs the first Wednesday of the month at 9 AM.

Clarke County-2001's
Barrow County-Mix of 2001's in Winder, Model 2's, and a Vortex in Statham.
Jackson County-Whelen's with a few Federals mixed in and an M10.

Why 1:15?
It can't even be a Noon or lunchtime siren!
Also that is too late - there may be storms developing by then.

Illinois' tests apparently are earlier to avoid developing storms.

I know!...I can't tell you how nervous i get when it comes close to test time; because we all know what Oklahoma weather is like...

the Town of Glastonbury does daily test blasts at noon, and a one minute test the 1st saturday of the month at 11am. They also sound 3 wails for fire calls between 7am and 7pm. Here in Vernon we test the 1st Saturday of the month at noon for 3 minutes in a long cycled attack (20 seconds on 10 off) usually consisting of about 4 rounds (I think this was the old fire signal used when the sirens were used for fire calls). I'm going to try to get down to Glastonbury tomorrow in time for a test, and of course record ours.

In Wisconsin it can be anytime each city village town, does it at a diffefent time day week month. Like one county does it the 2nd wednedsday at noon. if they feel like it than the next county over each city does there own like one does every saturday at noon one city does it 1st friday at 1030am couple of counties do it at 12.05 because they have to wait for all the noon sirens to go off (oh and they are never set to univerial time) so if you are in the right spot you can hear each town go off one after the other. Oh and I growl my 2T whenever I feel like it daylight only. But to run it up to full speed than I do it on the 2nd wednesday of the month right at at noon if the others do it or not. If I rember to get up and do it I usally am still asleep (work Nights)

Im not sure if thats the exact reason, but it certainly makes sense. Thanks for posting that Robert, because I never really thought of that.

Post Volunteer Fire Dept. conducts a test of the Model 5 weekly on every Monday at around 7:00 P.M.

When they do a system test here, it is usually on Saturday around 2:00 P.M. However, last time it was on a Wednesday at 1:00, but they did about six, thirty second alert blasts before a final three minute alert (no attack this time :( ).

When and what days are sirens tested? 11 a.m., Noon, 6 p.m.?

Sat Jun 02, 2007 7:07 pm

Nashville, TN 70 ATIs..tested at noon on 1st Saturday of month for 30 seconds.

Williamson County, TN has 3 separate systems, all of which are tested on 1st Saturday at 1 P.M.

County system..19 Modulators; most of them single active cell;
Franklin,TN 9 2001s and 6 Modulators(most in parks);
Brentwood, TN 11 2001s and 3 Modulators(in parks).

Cobb County, GA 74 sirens; mix of old Tbolts(all but 1 bought from DeKalb County, GA), 2001s, Vortex, and WPS 2810s. Tested 1st Wednesday of month at noon for 3 minutes. Friend used to live between Tbolt and Vortex; could hear both plainly inside house. He now lives between a Tbolt and WPS 2810, both of which can be heard inside his house. The WPS 2810 makes a voice announcement prior to the test.
