Alertronic Siren Locations

Thu Dec 17, 2015 8:59 pm

Okay, so I am working on a map of all the locations of Alertronic sirens in the... well, world. This includes Alertronics that have been removed. I have some of the major systems, such as Oak Ridge, Sarnia, and Clarksville, but there are plenty I don't have. Two I am really looking for right now are the old locations of the Garland Alertronics, the Alertronics in Denison, and there were at least two in New Berlin, WI (I have the tower mounted one on there). So if you have any locations to contribute, that would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

The Allertronics in Garland were located along Duck Creek. One at Rickoden Park on Briarwood Dr. One on Glenbrook Dr. just north of Lon Wynn Park and the third one across from Garland High School at S. Garland Ave. and Avenue D? I wanna say.

I think a couple of the Garland Alertronics are still standing. They didn't get removed when the new Whelen system was installed.

Were they dual tone or single tone?

New Berlin's Alertronics were located at City Hall, Fire Station #5, and Racine Avenue.
The Racine Ave. siren was a later ASC RE-1600 with just four horn throats. I believe the others were original ACA Alertronic 6000s.
All were replaced with T-128s almost a decade ago.

Here's some pictures from the old siren archive:

Waukesha had 14 Allertronic AL-4000's. The T-128's on Pewaukee Road, The one near the intersection of Madison & Merrill Hills, Dopp Park, and the one in the Fox Lake Village neighborhood on the southwest side by Lawnsdale were never AL-4000's. All the rest were originally AL-4000's and replaced by T-128's at the same location. There were also AL-4000's on top of the Waukesha County Courthouse and an inactive one that's still there but never activates on top of Avalon Square.

Any idea where on Racine the 1600 was?

Edit, I found the 128, so I'm assuming it was there.

They're all gone (unless there were more than the three locations I know of). I was able to get pictures of two of them, but the third one was already removed when I visited it two years ago.

Here's the one that was off Forest Rd. near Garland High School.

This was the rotating Allertronic off Briarwood at Rick Oden Park.

This was the other overgrown rotating Allertronic that I wasn't able to photograph on Glenbrook north of Lon Wynne Park. This is a Googlemaps Streetview picture of it.

Here is a map I put together awhile back of all the locations (ignore the likely incorrect model numbers).
