2T22 noon test: Chester CT

I went back down to southern Middlesex County and decided to go to the Chester Hose Co for their 2T22's noon blast. Now when I 1st pulled up the the firehouse there was a public works employee weed whacking but after I circled the block, he finished and I had the lot to myself. This is the last remaining mechanical siren in that area as about 2 miles down the road is Whelen's headquarters, and as expected their sirens are abundant in every other surrounding town (mostly 2016s).

I wonder how the Whelen guys feel every time they are outside while this siren goes off.. because if the headquarters is just 2 miles away.. with no other sirens, it can probably be heard.

I've always wondered too as that thing carries through out the area. I've heard it about 5 miles away, on a cold winter morning sounding for a call. The 2905+VisuAlert I recorded yesterday is also about 2 miles up the road from the factory, which I'm sure they can hear as well. But than again Chester Hose does have Whelen lights and sirens on all their rigs.
