I just recently purchased a Federal Sign & Signal Model 76A from Eric (estokke09) for $120.00 (plus $30 for shipping) and she is a beast! Here are some pictures:

Nice! I always love the sound of the dual tone Federal sirens! I can't wait to see a video of this thing in action.

Thanks! It may be a little while until this beast gets a workout, as I have no idea how to set up a siren like this.

Assuming it is 12 volts, just take a jumper cable(which you should have, if you don't, buy one), hook it up to your car battery, and then hook it up to the wires of the siren.. and on the moment that all the wires are connected, it will sound. Be very careful when doing it.

I hate to bump my own topic, but I need assistance. Does anyone know what type of 6 volt battery can power this siren and where I could get one? Help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Couldn't a Lantern battery for like those big flashlights work? The fat ones with 2 springs. They sell them everywhere.

That's what I thought at first, but I wasn't sure what amperage the siren has, and if the battery would work.

Since they're really cheap it's not a bad idea to try it.
