Hi, I recently bought this nice little siren. It has 10 ports, I believe it's was made by Carter's of Burnley, but I'm not certain. I don't suppose anyone would know much about it? It is really high pitched, and REALLY loud!
Thanks

Those were commonly used throughout the UK and Europe as burglar alarm sirens. A version found in the United States and on EBay was imported from the former Yugoslavia.

Ah, thanks. I've seen similar ones also used on old fire alarm systems here in the UK. It's higher pitched than I expected it to be, I thought at first the motor was spinning too fast, but probably just how it's meant to sound.

The MINIMITE, I assume, is its smaller, less loud brother?!

Yes, the minimites are smaller and significantly quieter than this. I have 7 minimitea, I'm about to post a pic in another forum :)
