Thunderbolt in South Texas found

Feb 11, 2017. We just found an old, but working, Thunderbolt siren in Lagarto, Tx! No fiberglass horn here, guys. This one is rusty and all metal. It's at the Lagarto, Tx volunteer fire department. Lagarto is probably 18 miles south of Orange Grove, tx. Lagarto is mostly farms and fields, it seems. Very rural. You gotta drive through scary roads with dead brush and hardly no houses nearby. Must be scary after sundown. But when you get to the firehouse, that siren is a real sight! Must be only 15 feet high on its pole. Took plenty of pics but can't upload now.

Was there ever a Thunderbolt with a fiberglass horn?? No.

Yea I second that I've never seen any fiberglass part on any thunderbolt. Ever. Even the molded rotator wheels where the belt is doesn't even appear to be fiberglass... back ot but that is a LOOOOOW thunderbolt...

Who here is being an absolute <insert word here> about it? All I was doing is pointing out that I've never seen a fiberglass horn (or any fiberglass part that I can recall for that matter) on a thunderbolt. Wasn't trying to upset anyone.

look I don't want to be the reason this topic gets locked and it's already pretty derailed... yes Tyler is right there was a response before. That's who I was replying to. Point is there was a low and cool thunderbolt found and i don't think any of us know of a fiberglass thunderbolt part.

If anything I'll be the reason it's locked and I really don't care, both you and CDV had a snarky response to jump on him about it and it really wasn't necessary. Yeah, okay, no fiberglass on a Thunderbolt, but do we really need *everyone* pointing out the obvious and being a smartass about it? Put some new information on the board for once instead of getting on people's case for stupid things.

Umm.. I didn't think fiberglass on a thunderbolt was possible but you learn something new every day!

What are you talking about? Thunderbolts are all metal, no fiber in sight.
