Did sirens come in any color as long as it was CD Yellow?

Would factories provide sirens in any other colors?
Or were they all CD Yellow?
Thank you,

Yes they did. They came in other colors for fire/tornado/other emergency sirens, but they were also single tone only. Dual tone CD sirens were painted CD yellow as stated by the Matching Funds act which granted money to fire depts. and towns needing or wanting a siren system. That is why you see mainly yellow XT22s, SD10s, Allertors, T-bolt 1003s, you name it... Our Model 5 is from this era and was silver or gray in color and was repainted to its original looks a couple of years ago.

Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.

Many single tone sirens also came in yellow, but any dual tone siren I've seen other than yellow was painted by a third party.

Our model 5 up the street on top of Avondale East was placed there during the 50s when the school was built. (Also when this part of town was housing for Forbes AFB) I believe it is single tone...its pained CD yellow.

Looks like Federal Signal also allow sirens to be custom painted at the factory.

Seems any siren company that wants to keep its customers happy would paint a siren whatever the customer wants. Does a body shop only paint cars one color?

Shawnee County has 3 of these (That i am aware of)...but i don't know why they would only get 3 in that color when we have 33 other 2001s in the regular white/silver color.

Justin was right. We discussed a little while back how Federal Signal paints their sirens any color. Of course, I'd love to see a red or royal-blue 2001.
If your siren is a-failin'
Chances are that it's a Whelen
And if it's just about to die
Then it must be an ATI

Here's the closest I've ever seen to a Red 2001
