TMI test today

Fri Jun 29, 2007 4:20 am

Thursday all 96 sirens within the TMI 10 mile EPZ were tested for a full 3 min at 12:15 pm. All sirens sounded except for 2 dead cyclones in York county. Here is a very cool newslink along with an E-Video at the top of the page. The E-Video features cyclones check it out. There is a short 3 sec advertiesment at the start of the video but then it goes into the story

believe me, I REALLY wanted to. I took the day off today because they've tested them on june 29th for the past few years and I wanted to get a video of a Penetrator this year before everything's replaced with 2001s. however, I tried and tried and tried to find out ahead of time when the testing would be done, but nobody could get me an answer. then on the 27th, I found out that it was done yesterday -- a day early than usual. not only did I have to work, but I was at a jobsite about 20-30 miles outside the EPZ. I stepped outside at 12:15ish and all I heard was a faint, single Federal 2001 doing rounds of attack (TMI signal is alert) that probably wasn't even part of the system.

and unlike peach bottom, who testes monthly, TMI only tests once a year.
