Oxford, GA SD-10 and Model 2 alert

Thu Mar 30, 2017 3:15 am

I made the venture to Oxford, GA on Wednesday to catch the SD-10 Model 2 pair that is tested every Wednesday @ noon. This pair is located behind the Emory at oxford post office and is still sounding quite healthy. While the siren is on the edge of the college campus, it is operated by Newton County EMA rather than the university. The college system is tested on the first Wednesday at noon. I am glad to see that these sirens were reconnected after some renovations within the past few years.

Is the SD-10 single phase perchance? Reason being it sounds low pitched. The Model 2 does as well, but that could just be because it's a Model 2-120

The sound of the SD-10 ( obviously) is more dominant than the model 2.
