Its obvious. with the T-135, the sound is concentrated in a horn, making it louder. But there is no concentration of sound on the Cyclone, making it not as loud.

From American Signal Corporation
RE: Cyclone C-125

What does text in blue mean?

System Design
The Cyclone? C-125-AC? Siren utilizes aluminum sound-producing components which are covered in color-impregnated fiberglass to eliminate rusting and painting maintenance. Sirens are mounted directly over the center mounting poles so that guy wires are not required. The C-125-AC" is the largest omni mechanical sound-producing sirens capable of covering over 9.9 square miles. In comparison, the 125-128 dB at 100 ft.-rated sirens cover 2.2 to 3.1 square miles (a 4 to I ratio), making the C-125-AC? very cost effective for large area warning signals.

How many horsepower is the motor?

Why don't they show a CLEAR photo of their siren?
When you search for a siren, you apparently are supposed to magically know which models are mechanical sirens and which are electronic.
I find their web site the most time-consuming, confusing and poorly designed I have ever seen.

Thank you,

Its is. The ASC Cyclone is 125dB where the Sentry 40V2T is 128dB due to the fact Sentry has a much more efficient design.

The C-125 uses a 50 horsepower motor. That's why the P50/RM135/1st gen T135 has a 50 horsepower motor.
Federal Signal Thunderbolt Series, still the King of Air Raid Sirens!

And the Sentry 40V2T has a 40 horsepower motor and still puts out more sound. Hard to beat dual rotors.

What would a supercharged cyclone sound like?

Thank you.
I could not find horsepower on ASC website.

Guess my next project will be to create a table comparing dB/horsepower.

You can't supercharge omni directional sirens. I mean, theoretically you can, but you'd have to have a compressor around 1000hp to achieve so.

Well that is a new one on me, I didn't know that.

But you can supercharge a model 2 with a leaf blower right? I've tried it and it changed the tone of the siren significantly.
