500 SH-TT and Chrysler sounding off at the 2019 Great Los Angeles Air Raid Reenactment of 1942

Mon Feb 25, 2019 4:27 pm

I had the opportunity to stand about 10 feet away from a Chrysler ,and man I’ll tell you what. It was even very loud from the side with double hearing protection in! Every atom and bone in my body was shaking like crazy ,as well as the whole ground! The mic and audio doesn't do justice on how truly loud these things are!! Edaan also got to pull the clutch lever which was cool.

So extremely good to know the Chrysler owners out there are still taking good care of their sirens, I envy you so much getting to hear one in person!
sincerely yours, a weird siren obsessed deer 🦌

Ep... freakin... ic... boy I sure wish I could’ve seen that... but oh well. Anyways it’s funny that they used a privately owned one... i actuallly finally saw the one in la, Canada flintridge/Glendale. The only problem is, nobody knows who rightfully owns it.

Wow that's crazy. There's only like one or two other videos I can think of where one of these runs full speed. Actually, this one doesn't sound like it quite hit its peak, but it's still going way faster than Chryslers in other videos where they just basically growl them. Must have been one heck of an experience. I've fired large-caliber rifles before and you can definitely feel the shockwave, so I can only imagine what this thing would be like. Makes a Thunderbolt sound like one of those paper horns at kids' birthday parties.
