Lassie growls, does not howl.

Mon Sep 03, 2007 11:45 pm

Due to a medical call, our first Saturday 12:00:00 2t22 siren test was missed.
Two camcorders were set up to record the test.
I was about to dial the National Bureau of Standards atomic clock, WWV, (303) 499-7111, to set off the siren at precisely 18:00:00 CUT. (GMT)
(If good for nothing else, at least one can set their clock by this siren.)

But my fire department received a medical call a few trailers from the fire station.
Our ambulance was several miles away where members were collecting for Muscular Dystrophy. (Friday, an attractive young woman said I looked cute in my blues and fire helmet, and put our largest donation, a $20, in my boot!) (Yes, I questioned her ability to drive with such obviously poor eyesight.) (I wear the helmet to minimize sunburn.)

I walked to the medical call. The patient had been in that state for a few hours - why couldn't they have waited just 12 minutes longer?
But had the siren sounded, it likely would have interferred with hearing blood pressure, etc., because they live kind of close to the siren.

After the ambulance left, I did a growl test. Hopefully the October 6th test will be recorded.
