I may have found a Detroit Chrysler Siren mounitng platform.

While I was driving down Warren Ave Between McDougall St and Chene I saw this tower.
Is this a Chrysler Air Raid Siren Platform?
I don't think its a water tower(what's would be left) cause the other buildings near Chene have water towers on them. But the are only above the roof by like 5-6 feet. The building is tall enough for a water tower. having this tower soo much higher struck me as odd.
Detroit had 20 sites for the chryslers. BUt on VictorySiren.com only lists 3 places.

There are 2 other towers exactly like that around Detroit. One is near I-96 downtown built directly on the ground, an another is right downtown near the old Tiger stadium on top of a building.

Do you know the street name? or can it be seen from I-96?
I been by the Old stadium many time. But wasn't looking for sirens at those times.

It's definitely the remnants of an old water tower. The tanks are commonly removed, even though the supports stay.

Since so far, it looks like it looks to be a old water tower. I guess it may just be that.
Wonder what happened to the other 17 Chrysler siren locations that Victorysiren.com doesn't list?

It looks a lot flimsier than the Chrysler towers here in Los Angeles County, but then again, they don't have earthquakes in Detroit, do they? (HOPE NOT with all those old masonry brick buildings
I vote water tower base, but it would be nice if it's a Chrysler platform!

Definitely a water tower base. The higher up it is, the greater the water pressure. Those old towers were usually used for fire suppression systems. Some buildings used them for water storage though too, cant tell what this one was for. But if you look at the middle, you can clearly see the standpipe going up to the base. I have seen hundreds of these in Chicago, almost every old factory in the city has either a base like that or a full tower.

I believe it's a water tower base. See the standpipe in the middle? Higher water level causes higher pressure.
Rather than remove the tank, I'd love to make a home of one.
