How do I get the bottom part of the motor off my STH-10

I have the motor stator off all I have now is the shaft and chopper. Do I have to take out the chopper to remove the shaft it's shown in these images.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? I'm surprised a newer STH-10 would need a rebuild. To remove the motor, you need to first remove the chopper, which will then expose the bolts holding the motor face to the stator.

I'm still learning to take it apart because I got it recently. Makes sense to take off the chopper though, I don't know exactly how to get the chopper off.

Was there an issue with the electric motor? The reason I ask is that it looks to be in pretty decent shape (windings, can, etc.) If there where no issues, then clean the motor thoroughly (dust, dirt, grime etc.) pay particular attention the any electric contacts. Lubricate the bearings or bushings. Check the rotor and stator separately for continuity.

I wonder how many STH/STL-10 siren motors look like that inside considering the motor is top-mounted. Any idea how old the siren is? I wonder if the weather seals wore out or if it was serviced in the past and not sealed back up properly.

It all looks like surface rust to me. To be safe, I'd take it to an electric motor shop and get their opinion. Considering we're talking about the inside of an electric motor, I'm not sure just cleaning the rust off with a wire brush and applying some kind of rust treatment is the best way to go.

It's from June, 1998. And I avoid using wire brushes we might just end up using rust treatment basically the best way to go so I guess I might try to get all that rust off. Also, the siren was sitting on the ground for a while so it ended up getting a little bit of water in there so I let it dry out for a couple days. It's been on the ground for half a year.
