Not my video, first off...but listen to the recording that ATI chose to use for this siren! I guess we can say we've heard it in real life now, along with half the movies in Hollywood...

Here is another, with the sound sped up, but it's the 3 cycle recording we've all heard on here.

I wonder if this person is a forum member?

I wouldn't believe that this person is a forum member, but if they are, I do hope they find this thread. Norcross is certainly interesting these days...

ATI sirens, at least from the limited documentation I've seen, are little more than Raspberry Pis (or something equivalent) mated to an amplifier board. Its little wonder so many of them just play things back.

ATI's controllers are actually capable of producing a number of custom tones natively, but they have to be requested. They have to be programmed to do it, and given this situation, I assume that would have to be done at the factory. I'm not too sure if the dealerships/vendors have the equipment to do it . Whoever installed this ATI system changed the recording for tests at the request of the city. They were using the Westminster chimes with voice when they went up.

The sirens in Israel's system do a 690 Hz alert with a wind-up and wind-down, and their sirens actually wind down when the cancel command is given to them, much like the ECNs in the system. I think either the government requested for them to be customized or ATI's European counterpart did it on their own because they wanted to make them sound better than what they would with the typical tone set they come with stock in the US. If they can set them to wind up to 690 Hz, they should be able to do it with the existing 575 Hz alert tone and make a sustaining attack tone. ATI probably never considered doing this for their sirens since they technically don't need to wind up and down or have a final wind down out of wail and fast wail. As long it produces the basic tones, "it looks good from my house."
