Federal Signal Model 60 klaxon

Wed Apr 02, 2008 1:35 am

I just got this Model 60 navy klaxon on eBay for $50. It is one of the rarest klaxons out there. The motor runs on 110VAC, and the shell is made of aluminum. Adam Smith used to have a recording of it online, but it is gone now. I'll see if i can host a recording of one. I will document and photograph the clean up + restoration of it. It should arrive Friday or sooner. For now, I will post the auction photos. Anyone else who has photos or media relating to this klaxon please feel free to post it.

I do not know any numbers, but it is very loud. A lot more than you would expect.

Is that a recording of the horn you actually own or is it a recording to represent what yours should sound like?

Its not the actual horn I own, but the seller set it off for me over the phone. It sounds pretty much identical to the recording I posted earlier.

Excessive Distortion I guess... I highly doubt that being any case however.
