Now we just wait for it to activate and fall to the ground
Not possible, because the unit isn't online and the controls are in critical condition.

ASC's sirens are pretty hardy. i see they had battery heaters. the siren head itself still seems fine.

Hamilton County siren test is cancelled once again, due to the icy conditions. But next Wednesday, they will be doing a growl, weather permitting.

No problem! I initially saw a post about it on Nextdoor from the EMA, and then looked and saw the same post on their Facebook page. They are very good at communicating everything!

Boone County didn't test due to Ice accumulation on the sirens. Apparently The OEM called dispatch after I did and told them not to test. Makes sense considering they've had issues before with their 2001 rotators locking up in the ice.

Hamilton County successfully growled the sirens today. Interestingly, UC also rescheduled the test for their severe weather alert system to be today instead of last Wednesday.

A couple things:

1. The Spring Grove Village Thunderbolt 1000 is still active, as it is now pointed northeast.

2. None of our T-128s are supposed to make a full 360 degree rotation for a growl test, correct? It looks like the one at Galbraith & Winton failed today. Unrelated, but I mentioned how the pitch dropped on this one towards the end of December’s test.

Yes the growl test on the T-128 holds the rotation for 10 seconds so the sensor can determine if it rotated.
