I just posted a video on my youtube channel that I took last night. It was about 9pm when some weather blew in and the "sounded" the "sirens." They were actually fairly loud but the tone is really lame. The siren closest to my house is about .4 miles due south. I was facing the siren at that location when I took the video. Actually it's only the 2nd time I have heard our ATIs since they were installed.

Wow, that's pretty sad, is Allen satisfied with them?

Nashville's ATIs do the same thing. Yes, sad indeed. These do serve their purpose, albeit rather poorly.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!
As of April 15 2010, a certified NWS Skywarn Spotter.

/me tries to stifle a laugh.

Wow. Just wow.

Ladies and Gentlemen I think we have crowned a new Mosquito.

Whelen Vortexes will eat those "sirens" for lunch.

Heh, I think my Wheelock 34T will eat the ATIs for lunch.

I think the word pitiful is an understatement. I don't mean to sound biased, but that is really, really, really high pitched. Almost got a head-ache from listening to it.

How do you put up with it, Eric? :P

Eeeeew.
Just for that, I think I'll go out and rattle the windows with the 1000.
Aren't you glad you've got a 1003, makes up for the turds-on-a-pole they call sirens!
