I just told that guy that they weren't sounding for a Tornado Warning. It was a Severe Thundersotrm Warning conciding a Tornado Watch.

Don't get me wrong, but I honestly do think that 1000 is on a VERY low chopper rating. Sounds to be rotating rather at a fast pace too. Very ominous sounding. :)

Are you sure that that's a 1000, and not a T-128?

You know, it very well could be. I'll have to check out some T128 video's and play them side by side to judge that. Just that the wave of sound comes and goes about pretty fast. :)

edit; it's a close match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56x0S3-bvXM :?:

I don't think there are any T-128s near downtown Cincinnati.

Now, that might not be a 2001 being heard. It could be the high-pitched 1000 on top of Park Place at Lytle BellyJae filmed in December 2006.

Going by a few landmarks in the video, it appears that it was shot in Over The Rhine.

Here are the sirens in that area:

Over the Rhine:
Thunderbolt on top of a training tower at the fire station - 564 West Liberty Street
Thunderbolt on top of YMCA - 1105 Elm Street
Thunderbolt on top of School for Creative and Performing Arts - 1310 Sycamore Street
SD-10 on top of Loud and Clear, Inc. - 242 West McMicken Avenue

Downtown:
Thunderbolt on top of the federal courthouse - 100 East 5th Street
Thunderbolt on top of Park Place at Lytle - 5th and Pike (this is the high-pitched one that BellyJae recorded)

I seem to notice that within the city limits that any sirens being replaced are being replaced with 2001s it seems Cincinnati is staying with FS. When you get into the townships and the suburbs you start to see T-128s

They only 2001 I know of in the city is at the corner of Kellogg & Sutton. That 2001 I believe is an SRN. Jason, are you aware of any other 2001s in the city limits? When I listem to the video, within the time being under 1:00 long in the video, it sounds like lots of rotation, so I would think that's the Park Place at Lytle 1000, since it sounds just like a 2001, and it rotates very fast. So, 2001s can't even rotate at 8 RPM.

Also, there are a few 2001s in suburbs & townships, such as North College Hill.
