Very nice pictures Derek! How come this Eclipse had to come down? Bad motor?

Great that you got to take down an Eclipse 8! Man, the motor looks really small in relation to the stator. What is the diameter of the motor?

My god, that thing looks like a small scale siren from the perspective. Funny how the ports have the protruding ends to mount the horns on.

I've recorded one of these, and it seems pretty small for a siren. But I had no idea the motor was THAT small! Is it that small on an NH too?

They are the same exact siren, but the NH doesn't have the horns.

You know, I sort of figured that they would look exactly the same if you took the horns off of an 8.

consider how much lighter the (series motor) 2hp Model 2 is compared to the (induction) 3hp Model 3.

I always liked the Eclipse8's for some reason. Made a model of them recently.

... hey, wait, does anyone else see the resemblance to those old Toshiba SONGS sirens?

I've noted a similarity b/w the FS Eclipse-8 and the old Toshibas... Cant deny the similarity.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!

Those Toshiba sirens were MUCH bigger than the Eclipses, though they do look similar.
