Minnesota sirens

Some good clips of sirens at work, plus worries about the siren systems there:

Awesome, an EOWS* 408.

Glad to know the new siren put up there is a T-121, rather than a 2001. The T-121 probably has a larger radius than the 2001, due to it's far lower pitch.

If I am not mistaken, someone on youTube recorded that robins egg blue Allertor a while back - it failed to rotate. Nice video clip of the EOWS 408 however. The siren that was "broken" appeared to be a Model5 if i am not mistaken.

Eagan, MN is in for a world of hurt one day when those phone lines go down however...

I'm surprised they played the actual siren sounds with the matching photo! And md5, I believe the blue Allertor you are talking about was in Greenfield Wisconsin.

Honestly, people need to stay on track with these things. If the people rely on sirens, they need to get the coverage they need. And the media also needs to make it known that sirens are only meant for the people outdoors. Not very many people seem to understand that. Pick up a weather radio at radioshack fr $20, and you should be good.

I like that picture stating about how many tornados there were. Rare seeing a 408

I live in Rochester (Olmsted County) and they really do take excellent care of the system, i'm sure part of that reason can be attributed to the fact that Federal Warning Systems has an office/dealer/what-have-you right here in Rochester.

This is a cool video. Someone posted it a while ago, though. You can see the Christmas tree in the background of the studio

Great post!

I know Minneapolis keeps its sirens in pretty good shape, besides the paint. At least they work.

New Hope's sirens work great as well :D
