Smushed Thunderbeam test video

Wed Oct 28, 2009 2:15 am

Remember the beat up, ragged out t-beam,I got from Bibb county, GA? Amazingly it still runs fine, and has a proud new owner in WI, and a proud temporary owner in IL until the owner in WI picks it up.

Here is a video Joe R. (proud temporary IL owner) took while he was down here earlier this month. We couldn't get it up to full speed because the fault breaker on my generator is malfunctioning badly. I need to put a temporary bypass on it during motor startups.

Very cool. So the crumpled cage still leaves enough room for the ellipse plank thing to rotate?

About the camera, using built in audio leaves a lot to be desired.

The disc was all bent up and disengaged from the drive hub, so it was just laying in the bottom of the siren.

What caused the damage to the T-beam?

It was at a school that was being remodeled and the demolition crew knocked it over.

The Thunderbeam rotor/stator/motor is exactly the same as an STH-10. To convert a T-beam to an STH-10, all he would need is a bottom intake and 12 horns, which I'm assuming he already has or is in the process of getting some.
Kicking it in the siren party since '08

Why not? It's beat to pieces. Its easier to turn it into an STH10 than to fix it as is.

It already has the intake on the bottom. The only iffy part is the fact that the ports have rectangular cutouts with round scallops, instead of having round ports altogether.
