Ah yes, sirensofcincinnati, JMAN, and I found those 'Bolts and 5's back in May. I visited two of the Thunderbolts the following month. The units were in decent condition minus the rust, complete with blowers and telephone relays:

The rusty substation one gives a dead resemblance of stripes, The other one must've been repainted I guess..
I believe all of these were installed in 1952, so they must've all had the stripes, At least the rusty substation one, and the one next to the tall silo.
Plus, the tall silo one has white outlines of where stripes would've been.

Yeah, it's not good to assume unless you look into the very very fine details. A lot of the Tbolts were bumblebolts, but some weren't too.

This one was not. You can tell by the screen, and the yellow on places where it would be black on a bumblebolt.

But surely if it's a jailbar then the blower would most definitely be a 6M. The blower cover must have been replaced at some point if it does have an A2 cover.

Boy it's interesting that they had a first generation bumblebolt, second generation Jailbar and a 4M A2 blower all in the same general area...

Well, Knoxville did have a system until 2008 according to google.

Ludlow Ave Power station
Prosser/ Buffat Mill Jailbar

only one jailbar remains erect. it is in extremely poor condition tho. Dunbar St. Mechanicsville Neighborhood

Two model 5's still remain in South Knoxville
